A quick thumbnail to try and work out the size differences between humans and the Pagan Colossus, also figuring out ways in which the Pagan Colossus could curl up and whether he could have some previous animal mechanics incorporated into him from evolution etc.

Unit 2: Research (Creature Mechanics)
Since my character is now going to be animal based, or have the characteristics of animals, and has to have the ability to tuck himself away into his lairs, I decided to look into the way other creatures curl up.
Bathynomus giganticus:
'This startling creature is a "tatui". If it looks like a woodlouse, well it is a sort of cousin, but much, much, bigger! In fact Bathynomus giganticus, the largest species of tatui, can reach up to 76 centimetres long and weigh up to 1.7 kilograms! They can, slightly bizarrely, curl up into a ball just like their miniature cousins.'

I've also decided to look at creatures that burrow, because that is essentially what the Pagan Colossus is doing.

'Armadillos have hard plates that cover their back, sides and top of their head. These hard plates protect them from attacks from other animals. All armadillos curl up to protect their soft underside. Armadillos can jump up to 3 feet straight up into the air to startle a predator. Also, when the armadillo jumps up he may hit his predator in the mouth with his hard armor and dislocate the predator's jaw.'

Ischnochiton torri:
'They scrape off algae and small animals off rocky surfaces using their wonder toothed tongue. Chitons have teeth coated by magnetite, making their teeth comparable in hardness to a kitchen knife!'
